I had the pleasure of doing a live radio interview of New Zealands new Prime Minister just prior to New Zealands election.
It struck me then that I was witnessing a shift in the world. Not just from this interview but also from the events around the world. None more so than the USA electing Barack Obama.
It is pleasing to hear someone who shared a similar vision as myself. The belief that success is in all of us, work ethic, ambition and believing in making a difference no matter what your circumstances are. Bit by bit, step by step. making a difference nether the less.

Obama said:
Tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope.

This is our time, to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth, that, out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope. And where we are met with cynicism and doubts and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, we can.

This is the change that people look to as inspiration.Even in times of adversity, the human spirit has proved it can overcome any obstacle.

Going to High School next year?

I have just read an awesome book that is topical, well researched and clearly written from vast experience (and heart).

This book discusses all aspects of the transition for Parent and Teen to New Zealands high school system. All relevant information is given and gives Parents and teens the ability to make informed choices.

I most certainly agree with the points about Parents getting involved in their Teens lives. We stay at home to look after a new born baby so why not spend as much time with teens?

This great book can be purchased from www.springboardnz.com
