Low socioeconomic status and oppotunity

Should a low socioeconomic status mean having nothing meaningful or positive to contribute to society?

I say "No". It is my belief that a person from ANY social status has something to contribute the social and economic prosperity in a society.

Why does one gropup in society thrive and another doesnt? Is it acceptable to continue this way?

So whats the difference between the "Haves" and "Have Not's?"
  1. Mindset. Key contributing factors include not just the availability of educational resources but just as important, the mindset difference of these two groups. We learn from the social conditioning of the environment we are surrounded with. If no one gives you the tools, in this case mindset, then how will you ever achieve? The children of Mukesh Ambani or Donald Trump will have had a prosperity mindset instilled in them from day one. It is this mindset that creates the tools, thoughts and beliefs and habits to create economic opportunity. If kids from lower socioeconomic groups dont have access to this mindset then how will they ever know how to achieve?
  2. Networks. The "Haves" have networks which they do their business in. It is these networks which give them the opportunity to express their qualifications and personal attributes. Its is this network that provide economic prosperity. So how do kids in a lower socioeconomic groups get into these networks?
This being the case then, how do we instill a prosperity mindset and networks in the lower socioeconomic groups?

You will all know by now that I believe that every human being is born with their own unique talent that can be used to positively contribute to the world. It is also my belief that we as a society need to find a way to capture and enhance those talents. Our planets economic and social well being depend on it.

This is what I would do.

Everyone knows "what goes around comes round" or "Give and you shall receive". Karma.

I advocate our prosperous sections of society spend time in our less prosperous areas of society and simply spread the word. Get along side kids and show them how you have achieved what you have achieved. Most people who are wealthy haven't had it all handed it to them. Most have battled and scraped their way over coming many obstacles. Pass on this information. Pass on your networks.
And not simply the business side of things, life style choices, personal habits, family.

Success isn't just financial freedom. Success includes all areas of life. Sometimes its just one person with their hearts in the right place who will help and inspire us to be all that we can be.

"My mother was young when she had me, and my father was nothing more than a faceless name that never stepped up to life’s responsibilities. Having just finished raising three girls on her own, my grandmother decided that it was her job to give her young grandson the best up bringing she could possibly provide. She raised me in our small flat in South Auckland, where we lived from week to week as she looked after her own frail mother at the same time. But my grandmother is the reason I didn’t become a statistic. In the most public way I could possibly say this, thank you Nana for the love you showed me, and for giving me the best start to life that I could possibly have asked for. May every child born into difficult circumstances in this country, be as lucky as I have been."

My challenge to you is to be that person who steps up. Do it now.
